July, 2013 Picnic

Here is the initial posting on the brand new blog that, hopefully, will aid in communicating within our group.  We had 24 people in attendance at Yours Truly in Hudson today.  Lots of tasty food and good, lively conversation.

As our group grows (we now have 43 on the email list), we need to make it as easy as possible to share information about upcoming luncheons and any other activities or plans.  So here goes..............

On July 10, 2013, we will be gathering at Hudson Springs Park on Stow Road in Hudson at 11:00am for a picnic. We have reserved the May Pavilion.  If you have suggestions about any activities that we might do or if you want to let everyone know what food item that you will be bringing to share, you can add that information here for all to see.  Just click on "comment" and type away.

Hudson Park rules prohibit alcoholic beverages and grilling outside of grills that are provided in the parks, so plan accordingly.

Since we will have lots of open space for this lunch, if you would like to bring a guest (spouse, significant other, friend, etc.), this would be a great time to do so.  Just let me know the number of people in your party when you sign on.

If you can't attend this lunch, putting that in a comment would be helpful to me also.  Thanks in advance.

I have included a link to information about Hudson Springs Park in the "Recommended Links" section on the upper right side of this page.

Check "The Lounge" periodically for updates.

I have made some adjustments to the comment function of this blog. My suggestion for a profile to choose would be Name/URL. You can type in your name as I did for this comment. The URL part is optional, so just leave it blank. If this continues to be a problem, I will look at other possible changes.

Great job. The picnic place looks great. Several will miss due to vacation. I know that this is a great way to move around and chat…better than 6 to a table. Should be a 1 or 2 time a year deal.

The monthly lunches have been great--sitting with a different group of people each time is pretty entertaining. Looking forward to the picnic.

As you know Robin O'Nell and I will be at The Wild Goats Café for our annual "Ride for Robin' (MS Pedal to the Point) fundraiser. Try to stop in before or after the picnic. My son Charlie will match all donations made at the restaurant that day and will also donate 15% of the day's proceeds. We hope you can join us. Dave

As you know, I will not be able to make the picnic because Robin O'Neill and I will be at The Wild Goats all day for our 'Ride for Robin' (MS Pedal to the Point) fundraiser. Try to stop in before or after the picnic if you get a chance. My son Charlie will match any donations made that day at the restaurant, and he will also donate 15% of the day's sales. Dave

Hi All! I am excited to be a part of this group, but unfortunately I will miss the July 10 picnic. I will be in TN as a chaperone for our youth group mission trip and be able to spend the week with both Melanie (on staff for the summer) and Monica, a rare occasion. Bill, love the organized updates and invites.

Hi,
I will be there with something tasty. My last two comments didn't show up. Do we have a rainy day plan?
